Walt Blackman continued to show his campaign’s grassroots strength and momentum in the Republican primary for Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District last week, winning the Pinal County GOP District 5 Committee straw poll with 59.5% of the vote.
The results of the straw poll were as follows:
Walt Blackman 59.5%
Mark DeLuzio 23%
Eli Crane 16.2%
Steven Krystofiak 1.4%
In comments, GOP members noted that Walt Blackman “is a man of faith, integrity, experience and passion for our country,” and that he “has the best chance of winning. He is extremely familiar with the district and he won 80% of CD2 twice.”
This is the second straw poll Blackman has won in a blowout recently, having won April’s Yavapai County GOP straw poll with 50% of the vote. Blackman continues to solidify his position as the frontrunner ahead of this summer’s primary.
